About Us Ken Harman, President

Ken Harman is the founder and president of Metropolitan Appraisers, Inc., a 40-year-old appraisal company, appraising residential and commercial real property. The company employs 6 full-time appraisers and three support staff. Mr. Harman attended the University of Colorado. He began appraising in the mid-1970's and earned the SRA designation from the former Society of Real Estate Appraisers (now the Appraisal Institute) in 1986. He voluntarily resigned from the Appraisal Institute in 2016. Currently, he is a member of the VA appraiser panel, a developer of residential properties and vacant land, and is active in the building community. Mr. Harman has participated in presenting seminars for various mortgage banking entities, including "Underwriting the Appraisal", "Understanding the Appraisal Process", "Appraising for the Processor", "Understanding the URAR Form", as well as other programs. He assisted in writing the FHA/HUD appraisal manual in the mid-1980's and maintains contact with the various agencies to remain aware of current regulations. Mr. Harman brings over 40 years of appraisal experience in residential properties and land appraising to assist the lending and building communities in making informed decisions.



Bob Harman, Vice President

Robert Harman, has worked with Metropolitan Appraisers since 1982. He is licensed by the State of Colorado as a Certified General Appraiser and earned his SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1993. Prior to beginning his career in real estate appraisal, Mr. Harman worked as a financial analyst for Beatrice Companies and as a financial consultant for a national accounting firm. Mr. Harman earned a BSBA and MBA from the University of Denver. He has been on the appraiser roster for the Veterans Administration since 1993. In addition to management responsibilities for Metropolitan Appraisers, Mr. Harman has expertise in the valuation of residential and commercial properties, including subdivisions, apartments, retail and industrial. Assignments have been completed for purposes of mortgage lending, estate planning and eminent domain.
